The building and grounds of Zion Lutheran Church are gifts from God, given in Christ Jesus for the sake of the world. God intends these gifts to benefit the common good, and Christ's own love, generosity, wisdom, inclusion, and equity are values we intend to guide our stewardship of them.
Zion prioritizes making the building and grounds available to neighbors and ministries and non-profit efforts and organizations that align with Zion's values. Zion also wants the building and grounds to be available to Zion people.
Zion seeks to be relational, not transactional, and to offer and invite respect and mutuality.
By making its building and grounds available to people and other organizations and ministries, Zion makes an investment in them. Zion may ask those who use the building and grounds to invest in Zion in return.
Every person and organization agreeing to use the building and/or grounds also agrees to:
Zion also asks that responsible contact persons be present for the entire event.
Organizations (or their parent organization) may be asked to carry their own liability insurance for not less than $500,000, with Zion listed as an additional insured.
Zion's Congregational Council empowers the Pastor to make building and grounds use agreements with individuals and organizations and gives the Pastor responsibility to coordinate use with Zion's leaders and ministries.
